Set two years after The Bronze Age, the Burlys find themselves up against duskling swarms, a fire-breathing chimera, a hot-tempered young tyrant, and a Sincerity Enforcement Minister. With danger lurking at every turn and old enemies resurfacing—the family must untangle a web of hidden motives to uncover the truth. But this time, they won’t escape unscathed.

How many of your kids' books portray the parents as stupid beyond belief, downright evil, or dead?

Why are there so many perfect protagonists whose only real struggle is to discover how flawless and misunderstood they have always been?

What happened to storytelling?

With the advent and popularization of AI, the future of stories appears to be growing more generic and self-obsessed, and frankly, I'm tired of it. I want something better.

This is why I started Honeyed Lion Press.

At an early age my heart was captured by storytelling, weaving together yarns to entertain friends and family for well over thirty years. Great stories are my obsession, the kind that burn in your mind days after you finish—the kind you want to read over and over again, and each time you discover another layer of complexity. These are the classics, the timeless stories.

Spinelight Saga is my modest attempt to give my children something that feels classic but is wholly and completely new. Where heroes confront evil, virtue defeats vice, and everyone in the family gets a moment to shine.
